• The “Destroy the infected aircraft” Emergency Trial in Cradle of Darkness will not fail when its participants are gone.
• Matterboard items will no longer drop in story quests, due to certain actions in story quests preventing them from dropping. 
• You can hold 999 of certain items.

Techer Balance Changes

• Wand Lovers effective times extended; Recast timing adjusted
• PP Penalty effect removed.
• Increased “Striking Damage” (Normal Attacks / Tech Explosion power increased)
• Instead of “Mirage Escape,” the “Step” evasive action is applied while Wand Lovers is in effect. Step Attack is also available.

Braver Changes

• Katana’s Step and Step Attack animation speed has increased.

Quest Changes

• For the Egg and Rare Mineral Code: Collect trials, the operator will relay the item’s whereabouts in short intervals. The item’s display range has been adjusted.
• For Insect Fossil Code: Collect trials, the operator will relay the item’s whereabouts in short intervals.
• In Mining Base Defense, リリパリウム（極小） Liliparium (Minimum) has been added as a reward during the results of a wave.
• Relaxed the number of capsules needed for Advance Quests. Made it harder for enemy levels to rise from its Advance Risk, which relaxes said difficulty of the quest.

More Changes

• Hunter’s “Just Guard” and Katana’s “Counter” effects will occur even if they receive several attacks at the same time.
• Increased Partner Character’s HP
• Hans Client Orders: Dreaded Planet, Vivid Demons, Pack Beasts, Armored Baptism, Hidden Forest Traps unlocking conditions adjusted.
• Relaxed the clear conditions for some client orders from Lola, Azanami, and Jean.

This guide is just to get you up to speed on the crafting system and is not completely exhaustive. Since the crafting system is fairly new, information will be gathered and posted throughout the week.

The point of the Crafting System is to make your low rarity items almost as strong as a top of the line item. Crafting 10 star items will drop their stats, however you can increase their strength by extending them further. Be careful as top of the line 10 star items may end up weaker than expected.

Crafting Lines

You get 9 crafting slots to choose from:

• Slot 1 is available first.
• Slot 2 unlocks at Craft Level 5
• Slot 3 unlocks at Craft Level 15
• Slot 4 ~ 6 require Premium Set.
• Slot 7 ~ 9 can be purchased with 300 AC.
• A cooldown timer will appear after crafting an item from a particular slot. This deactivates that slot until the time expires. If you wish to speed up this process you need an item called Liliparium.
• Once crafted, the item gets bound to its owner.

Liliparium

• リリパリウム（極小）Liliparium (Min): Reduces a crafting line’s cooldown times by 15 minutes.  (Obtainable at Mining Base Defense.)
• リリパリウム（極大）Liliparium (Max): Reduces a crafting line’s cooldown times by 12 hours. (Purchased from the AC Shop)
• リリパリウムフルチャージ Liliparium Full Charge: Reduces cooldown times on all slots making them immediately available for use. (PSo2 Deluxe Package)

Item Decomposition

As you may have noticed, you won’t be able to craft an item unless you have the proper materials on hand. Access the Item Decomposition Menu to disassemble items and acquire the materials used for crafting.

Item Decomposition has two outcomes. you can either “Succeed (成功) or “Greatly Succeed (大成功).” If you achieve the latter, you can acquire rare materials like Rubiard needed for some of the higher level crafting recipes.

PA Disk Decomposition nets you PA Fragments!

The amount of materials you acquire is based on how powerful the item was. You can earn even more materials by Greatly Succeeding (大成功) item decomposition.

Equipment Extend

Equipment Extend allows you to overwrite the base stats of weapons and units. Even weapons with low base stats can become quite powerful. In order to extend an item, you’ll need several materials and meseta. You can obtain these materials through Item Desysnthesis which was described above.

The Recipe Details pane will list both the required and resulting stats for the item.

Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced recipes apply to a specific range of rarities.

• 1 ~ 3 stars: Beginner
• 4 ~ 6 stars: Intermediate
• 7 ~ 9 stars: Advanced

The stats on a crafted item are based on the level of the crafting recipe. Please take note of the following situations:

• Items will lose their all-class status and other special parameters during the crafting process.
• By achieving a Great Success (大成功), the item may gain the chance to be used by multiple classes.
• However these parameters are lost again upon re-crafting the item.
• Crafting items that originally had high offensive/defensive power may find their stats lowered after extension. However, the stats required to equip the item may be lowered, making it easier to equip as a result.
• If you re-extend an item using the same level extending recipe, you have a higher chance at achieving Great Success (大成功)!
• Once you craft an item, you will not be able to return it to its original stats.
• In addition, the item is bound to owner after crafting.
• Sega plans to release more crafting recipes in the future!

• The Rare Drop Boost Event for the Floating Continent Exploration quest has been extended to January 17th @ 23:59 JST!

ARKS Unity Festival takes place between January 22nd, 2014 until maintenance on March 5th, 2014! During the festivities, everyone will be given a Bingo Card. Each time a line is cleared horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, you’ll achieve a BINGO Point that is tallied up with the scores of all players. This score is used to unlock rewards after the event is over. 

The reward and target values are displayed underneath each panel. Once a score for a particular panel is achieved, we all work together to unlock the next panel.

It’s time for the ARKS General Election! All players will be able to vote for their favorite NPCs. You may vote once a day in both the female and male divisions. Midway through they’ll post the results of the election. Once the results are finalized, Sega will create items based on the winning characters!

The Valentine’s Day seasonal event begins February 12th with new items and the return of the famed “Super Falz” Emergency Quest.

Valentine’s Event

Event Period: Feb 12th ~ March 5th

The new Valentine’s Bingo will distribute rewards such as the “Space Cake” 「＊スペースケーキ」 weapon camo. Most of this Bingo’s objectives will take place in the Volcanic Caverns field.

By completing Xie’s Valentine’s client orders, you’ll receive the lovely Giri Heart 「ギリハート 」 talis. Throw some chocolate to those coworkers and enemies whom you have no romantic feelings towards.

‘Where’s The Chocolate 2′ has been upgraded from its previous iteration to include Valentine’s decorations and Dragon Altar enemies! Fight alongside “Patty and Tiea,” “Lisa and Fourier,” and “Io & Lottie” in Emergency Trials along the way. At the end of the quest, you can purchase some Valentine’s Chocolate by protecting the Naura Cake Sisters’ cargo from those pesky enemies.

Super Falz

Raging Dark Arms and Utterly Profound [Super Hard]

Players will be able to challenge a Lv.70 Dark Falz in a set of pre-scheduled emergency quests. These quests are not selected at random, they’ll only appear at the times listed at the official site.

Lv. 70 Dark Falz Elder has a chance to drop some 12 star items like Celesta Riser, God Hand, and Magical Piece. These items appeared in previous Phantasy Star games!

• After installation you may start the game as a first time player or use your pre-existing character.
• Character creation is streamlined for the smartphone version but you may customize their height, size, hairstyle, and choose an accessory. However, whether you created a new character, or used a pre-existing one, only accessory slot 1 is available.
• You can zoom in on the color palette when choosing a color for hairstyles and such.
• Your character’s appearance, items, meseta, and FUN are shared across versions. (You’ll start from level 1)
• You can play AC Scratch and PSO2es exclusive Rare Chip and Fun Chip scratch.
• You can strengthen your weapons and units.
• You can feed items to your mag.
• Emergency Quest announcements are also available. (Dev team wants to make Premium users receive announcements an hour in advance.)

Windows XP Support Ends April 9th, 2014

• Microsoft is shutting down support for Windows XP on April 9th, 2014. In accordance with this event, Phantasy Star Online 2 will also terminate support for Windows XP on the same date.
• All this basically means that if something goes wrong that prevents PSO2 from running with Windows XP, then Sega is not obligated to fix it. You should still be able to run the game after this date, however you’ll be playing below the minimum requirements.

Upcoming Adjustments and Changes

• Sega plans to add the HP and PP ability affixers to the next scratch.
• Sega has confirmed a bug where the effects of certain skills and such causes certain technics to not consume PP. Sega plans to correct this bug in the future.
• Sega plans to adjust the lengths of the Long Fishnet Stockings.
• Boss raid Emergency Quests will make boost items consume time after the “Quest Objectives” appear on the screen. This change goes into effect for “Approaching Dark Arms,” “Profound Darkness Kin: Elder,” “Raging Dark Arms,” “Utterly Profound,” and “Mega Mecha Awakening.” Once the “Quest Objectives” appear on the screen, boost items will consume time even if the player is in the camp ship or lobby.

You can expect the changes listed above in a future, unspecified update.

The lobby is transformed into a White Day celebration where Lovey Rappies appear on the field! These enemies will drop the Love Radio (pictured above) and a cute ＊ローズピッチャー Rose Pitcher weapon camo that shoots bullets out of a tea pot.

It’s the men’s turn in the “Boisterous White Day 2″ emergency quest. See as “Jean & Jozsef,” “Huey & Lubert” and others appear in emergency trials across the field.

Add some variety to your playstyle with three photon arts and two technics! But that’s not all, expect to see even more photon arts and technics in a future update!

ファセットフォリア (Facet Folia)

After the initial hit, it attacks that area at lightning speed in a series of attacks.

レーゲンシュラーク (Regenschlag)

It fires shots at close range after the blade charges towards the enemy.

シフトピリオド (Shift Period)

Fires multiple rounds in different directions, then blasts them all at once during the final blow.

イル・フォイエ (Il Foie)

Drops a meteorite on its target causing an explosion damaging enemies nearby.

イル・ゾンデ Il Zonde

Enveloped in lightning energy, the user dashes forward damaging enemies in their path.

Super Hard Advance Quests

Experience Super Hard Advance Quests for Forest, Caves, and Desert on March 5th, 2014! The level 66 ~ 70 enemies that appear along the way may even drop 11★ weapons. Super Hard Advance Quests requires capsules d/e/f, which you can obtain from shops or enemy drops.

See your inventory space suffer with the introduction of “Large Pyroxene Stones.” Collect them along with the exchange materials to acquire new 10★ weapons available at the Pyroxene Shop!

Tundra And Mechs (Stage 51 ~ 60)

More stages, more fun, as Tundra and Mechs expands with level 70 enemies! Quarry enemies join the fight, including a “Barbarilipan” appearing on a certain stage. Traverse through all 60 stages to receive even more Scarlet Ores than ever before!

Bio Weapon Series

Trade in those spellstones to acquire new 11★ weapons at the Refine Spellstone Shop! These 11 stars are biological weapons that not only have this ominous glow, but attach a small yellow case to the character’s back.

There’s currently five different BIO weapons to choose from, but more will be added in upcoming Extreme Quest updates!

 Team Room Update

Indulge in a breathtaking view of the city in the upcoming “Nightscape” team room! Live the life of a celebrity in your own private pool overlooking the fireworks bursting through the starry night sky.

Decorate the team room with your favorite symbol arts prominently displayed in monitors across the room.

• At the Recycle Shop, premium players can trade in an 11 star weapon for an 11★ Weapon Exchange Pass. Use this pass to purchase 11★ weapons sold in other player shops. Please note, 11★ acquired from the [Pyroxene・Spellstone Refining Shop] do not qualify for this pass.
• Improved the grinding success for 7★~11★ weapons.
• Extra Slot Success Penalties relaxed.
• Sa Barta will now pursue the enemy with the target marker (i.e Locked-on Target)
• (Edit) Using boost items that share the same name can have their effective times extended to 120 minutes.
• Relaxed the EXP needed to level up starting from class level 46 and up!
• The rare drop rates for boosted enemies has increased on all difficulties
• Increased the number of items that drop from red containers
• You may now input a comment for your ‘Online Status’ in the ‘Quick Menu’.
• You may now set a name for each skill tree.

The Big Push

• The Unity Festival ends when maintenance begins on March 5th. As of today, we have two awards left to unlock, the boost events for “+10% Item Grinding Success” and “+10% Special Ability Affixing!” We’ll lose out on these rewards if the total bingo score does not meet the requirements. Here’s hoping for the staff to throw us a bone.

Stone Exchange Materials

There seems to be some confusion regarding the differences between stone types for Advance Quests and Extreme Quests. So we’ll take the opportunity to clarify each of these stones for the upcoming March 5th update.

輝石 = Pyroxenes

• These stones drop in [Advance Quests]
• You can ‘Refine’ them along with a certain weapon to create an “upgraded” version of that weapon.
• i.e Ikutachi + 90 Wind Vayu Pyroxenes = Kagudachi

大輝石 = Large Pyroxenes / Big Pyroxenes

• These stones drop in [Super Hard Advance Quests]
• You can use them as exchange materials for a weapon that looks like a blue (Ishurai/Surukurai) or a yellow (Messer Agate/Lava Seeker) among other things.
• The Dengeki scan says you can convert specific Pyroxenes into Large Pyroxenes. (Speculating here, but presumably, wind pyroxenes into large wind pyroxenes.)

魔石 = Spellstones

• These are commonly referred to as the “Extreme Quest Stones”
• You can use these stones to acquire 11★ weapons
• The upcoming “BIO” weapon series will require spellstones.

• This campaign, (dubbed a real-life emergency quest), will allow you to obtain item codes for 7/11 themed goodies. The only item of interest on this list is the ミラセリア711 (Miraseria 711) costume.
