Phantasy Star Nova’s official site updated with some basic information surrounding the game. Phantasy Star Nova is a project to create a new Phantasy Star that takes place offline. It includes a single player story mode, and a multiplayer ad-hoc mode with up to 4 players. The story consists of group of comrades who form deeper bonds as they encounter various trials and tribulation. Tri-Ace plans to use real-time cutscenes to capture their events throughout the story. 

The player and crew make an emergency crash landing on planet where photons hold no power. Though at first the planet was thought to be uncivilized, the crew encounters a gigantic boss heavily adorned in artillery. Without the use of photons, the crew must now rely on materials procured on the planet to fight against the beast known as Gigantes.

The third extreme quest features an eclectic mix of Oceanids and Darkers. And just like the coast field, the Oceanids’ behavior can change depending on the time of day. This quest is aimed at more experienced players as it’s slightly more difficult than the previous two quests.

Episode 2 which introduced Planet Wopal, will debut a brand new field known as the “Seabed.” This field takes place along some ruins illuminated in fluorescent color. Scattered across the field are switches that can change the water level. The Oceanids will become more invigorated if the water is at a high level.

Biol Meduna and Decol Maluda

Biol Meduna is a beautiful and charming Oceanid who floats around while attacking with its tentacles and pincers. It can also perform electric style attacks and fire laser beams.

Decol Maluda is a bird darker that attacks its foes by spinning around. Though it may appear tall at first, you can cut its body down to size by destroying sections of its torso.

New Photon Arts and Latents

Hatou-rindou: Once unsheathed it slices foes and produces a shockwave.

Tritt Shooter or Toritto Shooter: A combo style attack that fires an arrow after a series of kicks. Charge it up for more hits.

Several new latent abilities will be released that can:

• Increase the effects of weak stance.
• Increase Stylish Roll JA damage. Use this together with the SRollJABonus skill to gain more of an advantage.
• Obtain the effects of the “Crazy Beat” skill.
• Obtain the effects of the “Crazy Heart” skill.

Aerial Gunner Scratch

Aerial Gunner will add new costumes like Crazy Kitten, Enigma Rebellion, and Baybarrel. Expect a new accessory and weapon camo from Ophiuchus, the thirteenth astrological sign.

HDD Wiping Compensation Followup Report

Initially Sega hoped to address everyone who applied for compensation by the end of October, but it appears there are still a few people left over. They have already addressed some of those who applied since October 15th, and will continue to accept new applications for those who wish to receive the compensation. Please note that depending on the contents of your submission, it can take additional time for SEGA to determine if you qualify.

SEGA was unable to address around 10% of the applicants due to various reasons. If they have determined that your account information was incomplete, they will send an email requesting for its change, and ask that you re-submit your application. If they have determined that you did not qualify for the compensation, you will receive an email informing you of that status. Normally, people who fall under this situation were those who did not start or complete the update during the time frame the bug occurred. However, Sega has determined that SOME people submitted false information in their report. Please understand that SEGA can not support those who do not qualify for the compensation.

The next round of compensations will be distributed after November 6th’s maintenance.

• For Enemy Attack Rankings, it will no longer increase the boost rates for the targeted enemy since that’s tied to making the enemies stronger.
• When you are in a Beauty Salon and a party leader accepts a quest, you will now see a quest acceptance message after you leave the salon.
• An Emergency Trial to defeat the rare enemy “Tagamikazuchi” or “Rappies” may occur in the Border Break Emergency Quest.  In addition, the song, “Udonge,” will play when Cougar NX spawns.
• Adjusted the facial expressions that are shown in the Operator Window.
• After clearing a quest, you will not be able to rechallenge that quest from the camp ship if a party member does not meet the conditions for that quest.
• NPC specific Client Orders can be cleared even if you bring a Support/Friend/Free Partner along.
• In the Beach areas, the weather will change to rain when Mr. Umblla’s Emergency Trial occurs.
• A message will display when transferring an item to storage that was obtained through a present box.
• It will now display a confirmation screen when setting up a symbol art in the SA Projector.
• Added a function in the Team Member List window that allows you to invite a team member to your party or transfer to their block.
• An icon will display overhead when you can obtain an Extreme Pass from Pudding.

Earlier this morning, Sega released the higher quality version of the third opening movie for Phantasy Star Online 2. This trailer features a new, dubbed “highly difficult” 12 player quest where the ARKS must defend a base from hordes of Darkers. The quest also contains a new boss known as “Dark Bibras” or “Dark Vibras” if you prefer. You can expect this mission to release on December 18th, 2013.
